Greetings!
Welcome to the Susquehanna Woodturners Club website. On behalf of the officers and members of the Susquehanna Woodturners, I invite you to have a look around. Check out the gallery of pieces our members have turned. Test drive a meeting. Enjoy the camaraderie shared by individuals who share your love of woodturning.
Whether you are new to woodturning, or a seasoned turner, our club has a place for you. You may do this as a hobby, or it may be your daily job. You might be retired. We welcome woodturners of all ages, skill levels, and interests. What you will find in our club is a group of individuals from all walks of life who share an interest in woodturning and gather to share information and experiences surrounding our craft. This is one of the biggest benefits to joining the Susquehanna Woodturners Club.
We hold monthly meetings, which generally feature a show and tell portion where members can show off their creations, we share general information including tips and techniques, and have regular demonstrations of a particular tool or technique from our members. Periodically, we also host demonstrations from national and international artists, and have workshops. Currently, our meetings are a hybrid format - both in-person and via Zoom. Should you wish to test drive a meeting or two you are more than welcome. If you want to attend in person, please visit our event registration page and register to attend the meeting in person. We are doing this as we currently have limits imposed on the number of people we can have in our meeting space to meet social distancing requirements due to the pandemic. If you want to attend via Zoom, please contact the club secretary for the meeting information.
The Susquehanna Woodturners Club is a chapter of the American Association of Woodturners, and as such our goal is to spread the art and craft of woodturning. Our members do this through various community events and demonstrations; plus we have members that demonstrate and sell their creations at various festivals, craft fairs, and juried art shows.
