Meeting called to order by Tim Starliper at 7:00pm.  We were live from the 2022 Farm Show and there was no in-person meeting at Woodcraft.

These Meeting Minutes are UN-official until Accepted by vote of the club members.

December Meeting Minutes were approved by vote.

 

Treasurer Report

Balance in checking account as of December 31, 2021.  $ 3,160.57

We had revenues/deposits of 405.02 all from 2022 Dues renewals.

We have currently 29 members who have paid their 2022 dues. Keep in mind that the dues are now $25.   The SWT website has been updated to reflect that when using the registering process.    We accept checks and paypal or send checks to me at home address.     Will be collecting dues in person at the February meeting.

 We still have some patches for sale at $5 each.

  • January 8th to 14th - 2022 PA Farm Show under way
  • Feb 11 Monthly Meeting Making Celtic Knot Spindles (pens, bottle stoppers, pepper mills)

 

Tom White is looking for club members willing to demonstrate for the club. 

 

 NEW BUSINESS:

  • Please send any ideas for programs and demonstrations to  Tom White  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  You do not have to  demonstrate yourself and demonstrations can be done remote to Woodcraft and pre-recorded .  Club may share demos with other clubs in the area. 
  • Ideas we are considering
    • Team Challenges - small group collaboration
    • A Descriptive challenge, not concrete like "Miniature, or Hard-to-use"

There were no Show and Tell Photos.

 AAW membership is encouraged for all members.  Membership gives you access to the entire library of AAW Journals going back to the beginning of AAW as well as insurance during club sponsored events.  To participate in Hands-ON events you must have a current AAW membership.

The Club Library is available to all members.  Items may be checked out at any time the Woodcraft store is open.  Please have one of the Woodcraft staff accompany you and please call ahead to ensure that nothing is going on in the classroom.

Mission Statement

Our goal is to spread the gospel of the art and craft of woodturning.  We do this through community events such as festivals and craft fairs; and through individual members selling their creations at craft fairs and juried art festivals.

Susquehanna Woodturners is a chapter of American Association of Woodturners.

Meeting Schedule

 

Currently Susquehanna Woodturners meets the second Tuesday of every month at the Harrisburg Woodcraft location, 3831 Union Deposit Rd (Union Square Mall), Harrisburg, PA 17111 and via ZOOM.  Members start to arrive for conversation and camaraderie at 6:00pm.  Meetings start at 7:00pm, and visitors are always welcome. 

The Zoom meeting info is sent to all members on our email list.  If you are not on the email list and wish to attend via zoom, Please send email to the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..  Tell us a little bit about yourself and your interest in our club.

NOTE: IF YOU WISH TO ATTEND IN PERSON YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER  - visit the events page to register to attend in person.  You do not have to login to register to attend in person.
