This was a hybrid meeting.  people were both in the room and attended by Zoom.

Meeting called to order by Troy Nethaway at 7:02pm.  We had 16 members physically present, and 45 attending via Zoom.

Lynn Walker received Cindy Drozda cup.  Congratulations Lynn!

Martin Stolpe needs a baseball bat for a child in Montana.  Contact Martin at 717-314-7651

Officers of the club are stepping down. 

A new slate of officers are nominated.  Club officers must be members of AAW.

Discussion of of Yearly dues increase.  Deferred until new slate of club officers are elected.

Lehigh Valley Woodturners joined us for the Paul Hannaby IRD on dying and embellishing.  The video is available as a video file on YouTube.

The club received 113.50 from John O'Connell for the sale of T-shirts.  Thanks to John for donating proceeds of sale to the club.   These are all gone now.

 

The Lehigh Valley Woodturners have invited our club to participate in an interactive remote demo on Tuesday evening, September 28th aRoom opens at 6:30pm and IRD starts at 6:45pm, will last about 2 hours.  Keith Gotschall will be demonstrating a lidded box with a manhole cover theme.

AAW membership is encouraged for all members.  Membership gives you access to the entire library of AAW Journals going back to the beginning of AAW as well as insurance during club sponsored events.  To participate in Hands-ON events you must have a current AAW membership.

The Club Library is available to all members.  Items may be checked out at any time the Woodcraft store is open.  Please have one of the Woodcraft staff accompany you and please call ahead to ensure that nothing is going on in the classroom.

Mission Statement

Our goal is to spread the gospel of the art and craft of woodturning.  We do this through community events such as festivals and craft fairs; and through individual members selling their creations at craft fairs and juried art festivals.

Susquehanna Woodturners is a chapter of American Association of Woodturners.

Meeting Schedule

 

Currently Susquehanna Woodturners meets the second Tuesday of every month at the Harrisburg Woodcraft location, 3831 Union Deposit Rd (Union Square Mall), Harrisburg, PA 17111 and via ZOOM.  Members start to arrive for conversation and camaraderie at 6:00pm.  Meetings start at 7:00pm, and visitors are always welcome.
