Upcoming Events:
- Feb 9, 2021 - Monthly Club meeting.
- Mar 13, 2021 - IRD with Sam Angelo (Wyoming Wood turner) on Zoom
The Interactive Remote Demonstrations (IRD) are a good value and convenient for demonstrators. They get to use equipment they are familiar with and in their own shop. We can sponsor these at reasonable cost to the club (no travel expenses) AND share the cost with other clubs. This is an advantage to smaller clubs that could not afford to have demonstrators come in person to demonstrate for their club. I foresee these IRDs becoming a permanent thing even after the pandemic is over. These IRDs are great! I hook up my laptop to my big screen TV and put it about 5 feet away from me. Better than being there in person.
The IRD with Harvey Meyer was excellent! I learned things even though I may never turn one of his Basket Weave Illusion objects.
I tried to give a talk on photographing turnings, but it didn't work well. I didn't do a script. I will create an article for the web site.
Byron Light has Anchorseal in gallon jugs.
AAW membership is encouraged for all members. Membership gives you access to the entire library of AAW Journals going back to the beginning of AAW as well as insurance during club sponsored events. To participate in Hands-ON events you must have a current AAW membership.
The Club Library is available to all members. Items may be checked out at any time the store is open. Please have one of the Woodcraft staff accompany you and please call ahead to ensure that nothing is going on in the classroom.
