Meeting called to order by Troy Nethaway at 7:00pm.

No Visitors or New members.

 Secretary's Meeting Minutes from July 2020 meeting were noted and approved as submitted.

Treasurers report  $2515.49
Karl has club logo patches.  $5
Dues for 2020 are payable to Karl Hildabrand.   $20 for individual members, $30 for family membership.

Show and Tell: Many unusual and unique pieces.   September 2020 Show and Tell

 I will be sending out an email asking all our members to verify their contact information.  This information will be used to populate our Club Member List.  The List is not public, so no hackers, spammers, scammers or search engines will be able to access your information.   In the current situation we want to remain in social contact even while physically distant.  This is a way to enable contact between our club members.

Presidents Challenge turn a calabash.   Emialiano  was very impressed by the quality of the 6 submissions.   Bill Tatkovski, Karl Hildabrand, John Kelsey, Kirk Kappp, Stephen Miller, and Troy Nethaway all entered calabash designs.  Emiliano Achaval said all the entries showed good technique and form.  The winner was Troy Nethaway.   Runner up Bill Tatkovski.

Sept 12 - Rudy Lopez
Oct 13 - Monthly Meeting.   Topic to be determined.

We are planning to make some "wood burners". aka "wood vaporizers".
Dr Bob Silverman has an extra one available.
So far we have these names for woodburners.  Ray Fischer,  Harrison(?)
Handles.  Troy Nethaway,

 

Byron Light has Anchorseal in gallon jugs.

AAW membership is encouraged for all members.  Membership gives you access to the entire library of AAW Journals going back to the beginning of AAW as well as insurance during club sponsored events.  To participate in Hands-ON events you must have a current AAW membership.

The Club Library is available to all members.  Items may be checked out at any time the store is open.  Please have one of the Woodcraft staff accompany you and please call ahead to ensure that nothing is going on in the classroom.

Mission Statement

Our goal is to spread the gospel of the art and craft of woodturning.  We do this through community events such as festivals and craft fairs; and through individual members selling their creations at craft fairs and juried art festivals.

Susquehanna Woodturners is a chapter of American Association of Woodturners.

Meeting Schedule

 

Currently Susquehanna Woodturners meets the second Tuesday of every month at the Harrisburg Woodcraft location, 3831 Union Deposit Rd (Union Square Mall), Harrisburg, PA 17111 and via ZOOM.  Members start to arrive for conversation and camaraderie at 6:00pm.  Meetings start at 7:00pm, and visitors are always welcome.
